Your 12-Day Comprehensive Discovery of Morocco's Wonders
In the first day of your 12 day Morocco tour itinerary, we pick you up from the airport, the port, or your accommodation in Casablanca. As Morocco's economic center and largest city, Casablanca offers a vibrant start. Enjoy free time for lunch.
Then, we explore more of the city and also visit the amazing Corniche of Casablanca. Overnight stay in a comfortable hotel in Casablanca.
After breakfast, we drive along the picturesque coastline to Rabat, one of the imperial cities in Morocco and the current capital, located in northwestern Morocco. You will visit the Highlights of the Moroccan capital, including: The Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and finally, The Kasbah of Oudaya with its charming Andalusian gardens. Enjoy free time for lunch.
In the afternoon, we head north through Ouazzane and the scenic Rif Mountains to reach the enchanting Blue City of Chefchaouen. The city is famous for its distinctive buildings and alleyways, all painted in various captivating shades of white and blue. Overnight stay in a hotel in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast, we will explore Chefchaouen, the blue city, also known as Achaoun, which means "horns" in Berber, referring to the mountain peaks above the town. Located in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco, it is famed for its buildings and alleyways painted in striking white and blue.
Firstly, we will stroll through its charming old Medina, which boasts so many beautiful authentic blue doors and whitewashed walls, creating a uniquely serene atmosphere. Enjoy free time for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you can opt for a hike to the Spanish Mosque, situated on high ground, offering spectacular panoramic views of the entire blue city. Finally, return to your hotel. Overnight stay in the same hotel in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast, feel free to take a final wander through the beautiful blue alleyways of Chefchaouen. Then, we drive to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. This remarkably well-preserved archaeological site is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and features many beautiful mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways.
After strolling through the impressive ruins, we drive approximately 30 km to visit the city of Meknes, known as the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco's imperial cities. Here, we will explore: Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then, we head to Fes. Overnight stay in a traditional Riad in Fes.
We dedicate today to exploring the Highlights of Fes city with an official local guide. Fes is considered one of Morocco's most important imperial cities, renowned as the country's cultural and religious center.
Firstly, we start the day by visiting the magnificent Royal Palace gate. Then, we explore the well-preserved medieval Medina (Fes el-Bali), a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will visit the iconic Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), the main entrance to the old Medina, which appears to be a labyrinth of narrow alleyways and bustling streets. You will enter the Medina to visit key landmarks such as The Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the famous Tanneries, and finally, the Quaraouin Mosque and University – recognized as the oldest existing, continually operating university in the world.

Then, the 12 day Morocco tour continues to the ancient cedars forest near Azrou, where the Barbary macaques (also known as Barbary apes) live. Feel free to observe and feed them while wandering in the forest.
Later, we proceed to Midelt, where we will have free time for lunch. Our journey then takes us towards the Sahara Desert, navigating the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and following the picturesque Ziz River, with stops along the way for panoramic views of its stunning valley.
In the afternoon, we arrive at the edge of the magnificent Merzouga Sahara Desert (Erg Chebbi dunes). Here, you will switch to camels for an unforgettable trek across the sandy desert. You will make a stop on top of a high dune to enjoy the magical desert sunset. Finally, you continue to your luxury desert camp, a blend of traditional nomadic tents and modern hotel comforts. Here, you can enjoy traditional Berber drums music while dancing around a crackling campfire, under a vast open sky filled with stars. Dinner and an overnight stay in the camp.
Waking up early to witness the beautiful Sahara sunrise from the middle of the desert is an absolute must-do. After free time for breakfast at the camp, you will return by camel (or 4x4 vehicle) to Merzouga village to meet your driver. We dedicate the 7th day of your 12 day Morocco Tour to exploring the fascinating Merzouga region. This area boasts many incredible sites, from vast sand dunes and wild lakes to ancient mines, fossil areas, and fabulous oases – ideal for various outdoor activities.
Our exploration begins with an off-road 4x4 desert tour to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. We then pay a visit to a local nomad family in their traditional, handmade woven tent, learning about their way of life while sharing a Berber tea. Our next stop is Khamlia village (Gnawa Village), where you will enjoy authentic Gnaoua music and dance performances by inhabitants originating from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. After free time for lunch in a local restaurant, we take a relaxing stroll through a modern desert oasis with its lush palm trees groves. Dinner and an overnight stay in a comfortable hotel in Merzouga.
After breakfast at your hotel, we leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region. Rissani remains a significant trading hub, with a large, authentic souk (market) that is particularly lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
After a stroll through the Rissani Souk, we continue to Erfoud, renowned for its rich fossil deposits, where we can visit a workshop specializing in fossilized marble. Our journey then takes us through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad towards the spectacular Todra Gorges. Here, the Todra River has carved a magnificent canyon through the mountains, creating high, red cliff-sided walls – an ideal spot for rock climbers and nature lovers alike. Feel free to wander through the gorges and appreciate the stunning natural beauty. Enjoy free time for lunch in a local restaurant.
Afterwards, we continue our drive to the Dades Valley, via Boumalne Dades, making inevitable stops to admire the unique "monkey fingers" rock formation and for a panoramic viewpoint atop a mountain overlooking the Dades Valley. Finally, dinner and an overnight stay in a comfortable hotel in the Dades Valley.
After breakfast, we continue our trip towards Kalaa M'gouna to visit the Roses Valley, famous for its fragrant Damascus roses and the annual Rose Festival held in May. We then drive through the verdant palm groves of Skoura, before reaching Ouarzazate. Here, we will visit the renowned Atlas Film Studios where many famous movies were shot (optional visit, entrance fee not included).
We then depart to visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. This fortified village is a UNESCO World Heritage site and has served as a backdrop for numerous epic films and TV series. Enjoy a 20-minute hike to explore the Kasbah. (An optional visit to Telouet Kasbah can also be arranged).

Stops will be made for lunch (at leisure) and to take pictures at interesting spots. Overnight stay in a traditional Riad in Marrakech.
After a warm breakfast, you will be exploring the Highlights of Marrakech, "The Red City," with an official local guide. Your visit will include: The Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque (Medersa). You will also enjoy a stroll through the largest traditional Souk/Market in Morocco.
Enjoy free time for lunch near the bustling Jemaa El-Fna square. Later on, you will visit the iconic Koutoubia Mosque (the largest in Marrakech, exterior view) and the enchanting Majorelle Garden.
Finally, you will be transferred to your accommodation. Feel free to wander through the magical Jemaa El-Fna square on your own in the evening, experiencing its unique atmosphere.
After breakfast, we drive west to the charming coastal city of Essaouira. En route, we will make stops to see the unique sight of Argan trees, often with goats climbing their branches, and pause for panoramic views.
Upon reaching Essaouira, formerly known as Mogador and one of Morocco's most important historical coastal cities, we will explore its key attractions. This includes the bustling fishing port, the ancient ramparts fortified with cannons (Skala de la Ville), and the charming old Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site with its whitewashed buildings and blue accents. Enjoy fresh seafood for lunch (at leisure). Finally, transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in Essaouira.
On the last day of your 12 days in Morocco, and depending on your flight time, you may have some free time in Essaouira for last-minute souvenir shopping or a final stroll along the beach.
